Job Description

A&F IT’S DOR IT Support has an immediate need for a Quality Assurance Analyst position to assist in the management and monitoring of the COMETS HD Program’s processes and teams to establish adherence to quality standards within its COMETS HD software development lifecycle and production support.

The Quality Assurance Analyst will assist the Program Teams with execution of quality assurance activities throughout the COMETS HD software development life cycle, including but not limited to:

  • Plan, coordinate and execute the quality analysis of system documentation, processes, and work products as needed
  • Assist with the development, implementation, adherence, maintenance, and measurement of SDLC Tool sets and Processes including quality audits & team mentorship to ensure that program processes and work products adhere to the System Development Life Cycle process
  • Evaluate and measure the effectiveness of SDLC process changes, identifying areas for improvement and make recommendations to the Production Support Lead
  • Facilitate process improvement sessions and support continuous improvements and integration of quality assurance best practices throughout the SDLC process and relevant technical projects
  • Produce and maintain effective quality assurance metrics, KPIs, surveys and reports to provide insight and help drive SDLC and operational decisions
  • Provide assistance when needed to Release Manager and Release Teams for Functional Release activities to ensure quality execution of functional releases
  • Assist with planning and scheduling of technical activities across various COMETS HD environments including testing, patching, upgrades, etc.
  • Attend/Participate/Facilitate in various SDLC meetings, collaboration sessions, checkpoints, and milestone reviews
  • Perform or assist with quality audits, program audits and technical reviews to ensure that the program processes and associated work products adhere to the Software Development Life Cycle and other internal or external technical requirements
  • Aid the Production Support Lead on special projects or assignments
Desired

Skills and Experience:

Experience working with software and SDLC tools including Jira or Wrike, Sonar Qube

Experience with creating reports and dashboards using Tableau or Microsoft Power BI

Experience describing and documenting Procedures/Process using latest document management software, for example:
Confluence

Experience with creating quality metrics and reports for software development and production support

Experience with various SDLC methodologies (ex. Waterfall, Agile)

Ability to interact from a QA perspective, while having the necessary level of technical expertise in functional configuration to ensure work items are completed with traceability while anomalies are detected and minimized

Broad knowledge of testing approaches, development cycles and overall SLDC processes

Diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Experience reviewing work products of the business analyst, test team and development team to ensure well defined procedures or plans

Understanding of SQL, Automation and other test management or collaboration tools

Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with architects, developers, business analysts and project managers.

High organizational skills needed to efficiently maintain, archive and retrieve program assets

High analytical skills and ability to work independently and with a team

Experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities
