A well-established custom metal fabrication company specializing in food service equipment is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Operator with a strong sheet metal background.
This hands-on role combines CNC programming, machine setup and operation, tooling selection, and quality verification
. The ideal candidate will have experience programming laser cutting and punch equipment using Sigma Nest and Trumpf Tru Tops Boost
, along with a strong understanding of CNC and sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Program laser cutting and punch equipment using Sigma Nest and Trumpf Tru Tops Boost
- Set up and operate CNC machinery, including Amada laser and Trumpf combination laser/punch equipment
- Select and specify appropriate tooling for various machining and fabrication operations
- Review shop drawings and translate specifications into accurate machine programs and setups
- Verify dimensions and accuracy of finished parts and components
- Ensure all fabricated parts meet quality and customer specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine processes, programming, tooling, and operation
- Collaborate with engineers and other members of the manufacturing team
- Work effectively in both office and manufacturing-floor environments
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safety-conscious work environment
- Previous experience as a CNC Programmer, CNC Operator, CNC Programmer/Operator, or similar role
- Strong sheet metal fabrication experience
- Hands-on experience with Sigma Nest
- Strong experience with Trumpf Tru Tops Boost
- Experience setting up and operating CNC laser and punch equipment
- Experience with Amada and/or Trumpf machinery strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of CNC machining and fabrication principles
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and technical specifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineers and manufacturing personnel
- Safety-conscious work ethic
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on CNC professional who can confidently move between programming, machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and quality control
. Experience with Sigma Nest and Trumpf Tru Tops Boost is especially important for success in this position.
