Title: Stipend - CPS Summer Program Program Nurses (District Wide) (Internal Only) (Summer 2026)

Positions: 4 openings. Positions can be split.

  - High School

General Duties:

• Provides first aid to injured children and staff and everyday care of acutely ill children.
• Keeps daily records of students and staff seen in the health room.
• Maintains comprehensive current health records on each student.
• Manages children with communicable diseases.
• Responds to frequently encountered health issues, providing counseling and crisis intervention when required.
• Provides medically prescribed interventions.
• Administers over-the-counter medications per school physician certified standing orders to students and staff.
• Collaborates with the parent/guardian and student to develop and implement an individualized health care plan for the student.
• Develops a nursing diagnosis and care plan with specific goals and interventions.
• Responds to child neglect or abuse issues (as required by Massachusetts statute).
• Performs state‑mandated screening programs and provides appropriate referrals.
• Performs other related duties that may be assigned by the Manager of Health Services or Director of Extended Learning.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a current teacher in the grades listed above who is passionate about leading this work.

Compensation: $3,080 stipend.

Dates/Time: Summer school work and planning includes, but is not limited to, the summer school schedule which is:
Summer School will run from June 29 – July 23. Educator hours are 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

• Week 1 — Monday June 29 - Thursday July 2
• Week 2 — Monday July 6 - Thursday July 9
• Week 3 — Monday July 13 - Thursday July 16
• Week 4 — Monday July 20 - Thursday July 23

Additional PD will be available with additional compensation. More info will be relayed at interview time.
