Job DescriptionShore Educational Collaborative is opening a School Nurse for the 2026-27 school year at our new location in Cambridge. The position is school-year only, with possible summer work in the future.
The School Nurse will provide health services to students aged 3 to 22 with a variety of special needs. Responsibilities include assessing injuries and illnesses, administering appropriate treatment, and collaborating with teachers and parents to support student health and safety. The nurse will also work with behavioral safety training to ensure safe implementation of behavior intervention plans.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat injuries and illnesses of students and staff.
- Apply knowledge of child development to support student health.
- Collaborate with school staff and parents regarding health needs.
- Maintain records and comply with health regulations.
- MASSACHUSETTS Registered Nurse license.
- Pediatric experience working with students aged 3-22 with physical or mental health needs.
- Understanding of child development applicable to the age group.
- Certification in Shore's approved behavioral safety training program (Safety Care or equivalent) required.
- Additional certification from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is preferable.
The School Nurse will be covered by the Massachusetts State or Teachers' Retirement System, depending on licensure. The position includes sick and personal leave, medical, dental, vision, and options to elect for short-term and long-term disability. Extra summer work may be available.
