Assistant Property Manager - BOX District

Sign On Bonus: $1500 sign on and retention bonus

Location: The Box District, Chelsea, MA 02150

Hours: Full Time – Monday through Friday (some Saturdays required)

Salary: $29.00 per hour with opportunity for commission

Job Description: Hall Keen Management Company is looking for a full‑time assistant property manager in the Chelsea area. The candidate will assist and support the Senior Property Manager and provide prompt and efficient administrative support to the office in oversight of three properties (market and affordable) comprising 113 units total. The position involves market/affordable leasing duties as well as roughly 40 LIHTC/affordable annual recertifications between the three sites.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all resident LIHTC annual recertifications, as well as new move‑ins.
  • Manage waitlist: enter applications and conduct annual waitlist updates.
  • Process all rent and subsidy payments.
  • Track delinquency, deliver late rent notices, Notice to Quit, and update delinquency reports.
  • Lease apartment, market unit on various platforms, tour and follow up with prospects.
  • Assist Property Manager and Hall Keen on various projects.
  • Conduct weekly property walks.
  • Enter and track work orders.
  • General office duties as needed.
  • Some Saturday shifts will be required.
Requirements
  • Experience with One Site and LIHTC recertification.
  • Prior property management experience.
  • Ideal candidates hold COS or C3P certifications and have a background in affordable housing.
  • Organized and detail‑oriented with strong ability to prioritize multiple duties.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel and other relevant software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and professional demeanor.
