About the Role

As a Floating Maintenance Technician II, you will ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of multiple residential communities throughout the Boston, MA region, including Chelsea, Peabody, Lawrence, Woburn, South Walpole, Milford, and Andover. Travel throughout the region is supported by a monthly auto allowance.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily maintenance and repairs in electrical, plumbing, and appliances.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Prepare vacant apartments for new residents using the Make Ready Checklist, ensuring units meet Fairfield quality standards.
  • Inspect buildings and grounds for safety and cleanliness, following safe work practices.
  • Participate in training and respond to on‑call emergencies.
  • Communicate with vendors and contractors, and report inventory needs and potential liabilities.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in property or building maintenance or a related trade.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • General computer skills, including operating a mobile device.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Superior customer service skills, including the ability to manage difficult customers and situations.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and on‑call for after‑hours emergencies.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Pay & Benefits

Estimated hourly rate: $26.04 – $29.12. The position is non‑exempt.
