The role of the Children's Complex Care Team is to support children with life limiting and life threatening conditions in their own home.
The Children's Support Workers will work as an integrated member of the Children and Young People's community team in Gloucestershire, providing home‑based support and respite care to children with life‑limiting conditions. The Children's Support Workers will also undertake a range of delegated patient duties in the community but can act on their own initiative in delivering patient care.
Using a holistic approach the Children's Support Workers provide care and support to parents and siblings to meet the individual needs of child/young person within a community setting.
The Children's Support Workers will provide a safe, stimulating and inviting therapeutic environment, which fulfils the developmental and social needs of the child and family.
This is a developmental role. The post‑holder will initially be appointed as a Band 3 Support Worker. Subject to successful completion of the probationary period, Care Certificate, and required competency sign‑off, the post‑holder will progress to a Band 4 Clinical Support Worker role.
