Role Description The Health Club Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel's health club and leisure facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all guests and members. This full-time, on-site role in Cheltenham involves managing fitness, spa, and pool areas; supervising and scheduling team members; and maintaining high standards of customer service. The Health Club Manager will monitor membership sales, retention, and guest satisfaction, and collaborate with hotel leadership to promote health club services and packages.

The role includes managing budgets, coordinating maintenance of equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and supporting the development of wellness initiatives aligned with the hotel's brand standards.
Qualifications

  • Experience managing health club, leisure, spa, or fitness operations, with strong skills in team leadership and staff development.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards, including pool and gym regulations, and the ability to ensure consistent compliance.
  • Customer service and guest relations skills, with a focus on creating welcoming, inclusive experiences for a diverse clientele.
  • Commercial awareness, including basic budgeting, forecasting, and membership or service sales, preferably in a hospitality or leisure setting.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond calmly to operational issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across hotel departments and present information clearly.
  • Proficiency with common office and booking systems; experience with leisure or membership management software is an advantage.
  • Relevant qualifications in fitness, leisure management, hospitality management, or a related field; first aid or pool plant certifications are beneficial.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in line with business needs.
