Administrative Assistant 2 – Campus Police Department
Campus Police Department – Part‑time, 20 hours per week, eligible for full benefits.
Job SummaryProvide administrative and record‑keeping support to the Campus Police Department, interact with a diverse clientele, and maintain a professional, helpful demeanor while supporting departmental operations.
Responsibilities- Answer telephones, receive and refer visitors, and resolve problems and inquiries regarding department procedures and services.
- Assist with the Livescan fingerprint program, record retention, archiving, and destruction per Washington State schedules.
- Support the lost and found program and update department website as needed.
- Provide backup for case report review, approval, and merging; assist with creating and maintaining case files.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for Police Department equipment.
- Assist with reviewing surveillance video and provide support at football games and special events.
- Perform related duties as required.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational/time‑management skills.
- Must pass police‑department background investigation, including state and federal checks.
- Responsive, flexible approach supporting community, faculty, staff, and public needs.
- Familiarity with law‑enforcement and police‑department operations.

Salary: $22,434 – $29,892 per year (20 hours per week), based on education, experience, and skills. Eligible for EWU’s comprehensive benefit package, including health, life and disability insurance, retirement, vacation, sick leave, 13 paid holidays, tuition waiver, discounted sports tickets, full access to campus workout facilities, and free travel via STA buses.
Conditions of EmploymentBackground check required. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship available. Must comply with EWU Immunization Policy 602‑02, providing proof of MMR immunity; waivers available for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs.
