Lecturer‑Field Instructor for School of Social Work – CWTAP Everett
Eastern Washington University’s School of Social Work is seeking a full‑time Lecturer‑Field Instructor to begin the Academic Year 2026‑2027 (start date 06/16/2026). The position is a nine‑month academic year appointment with a three‑month summer appointment and is renewable annually on the basis of performance and grant funding.
Job SummaryAs a CWTAP Field Instructor, you will supervise and support social work students in DCYF child welfare offices, maintain relationships with agency partners, and teach practicum seminars and specialty courses in public child welfare. The role is integral to the CWTAP’s mission to enhance professional practice, recruit diverse social workers, and promote student participation in field placements.
Responsibility / Duty- Recruit DCYF child welfare employees and non‑DCYF students for CWTAP programs.
- Develop and manage IV‑E field placements in DCYF Regions 3 and 4 and beyond.
- Maintain relationships with DCYF offices and provide qualified supervision for students.
- Ensure MSW students serve Title IV‑E clients and document cases per policy.
- Advise students on practicum activities and prepare them for hiring by DCYF.
- Teach practicum seminars and the specialized public child welfare course.
- Evaluate student competency‑based performance and collaborate with Agency Field Instructors.
- Attend and coordinate CWTAP Advisory Committee, DCYF Management Team, and student meetings.
- Participate in trainings and other CWTAP events, including the annual student conference.
- Communicate regularly with the CWTAP Director and report challenges promptly.
- Master of Social Work (MSW) degree.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional post‑MSW practice experience in public child welfare, preferably with Washington’s DCYF.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience with culturally competent practice across diverse communities.
- Ability to travel throughout Washington, a valid Washington state driver’s license, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to complete and pass a background check.
- Responsive and flexible approach to support the needs of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Experience as an Agency or Faculty Field Instructor.
- Supervisory experience in public child welfare.
- One or more years of teaching experience.

Schedule varies by quarter and may include weekends and evenings. Attendance at meetings and training sessions is required.
Compensation and BenefitsThe nine‑month academic year salary ranges from $75,131 to $81,000, depending on education, experience, and skills. A three‑month summer appointment is paid $25,044–$27,000.
