Job SummaryThe Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering (CSEE) invites applications for a lecturer in Cybersecurity, beginning September 2026. The position will teach beginning undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Cybersecurity, including CS1 in Java, CS2 in Java, C & Unix Programming, and Cybersecurity Fundamentals. Classes are taught both in the downtown Spokane Catalyst Building and on the main campus in Cheney.
Required Qualifications- MS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate lower division Computer Science coursework.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that supports the diverse needs, including universal access, of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- College‑level teaching experience with positive student evaluations.
Typical workload: 45 credits per academic year, subject to departmental need. Faculty are expected to:
- Engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning.
- Meet all scheduled classes.
- Plan, organize, and inform students of course content, texts, readings, assignments, attendance regulations, and evaluation methods including grading scales.
- Schedule and attend office hours.
- Submit grades according to established deadlines.
