The Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering (CSEE) invites applications for a lecturer in Cybersecurity, beginning September 2026. The position will teach beginning undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Cybersecurity, including CS1 in Java, CS2 in Java, C & Unix Programming, and Cybersecurity Fundamentals. Classes are taught both in the downtown Spokane Catalyst Building and on the main campus in Cheney.

• MS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate lower division Computer Science coursework.
• Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that supports the diverse needs, including universal access, of students, faculty, staff, and the public.

• College‑level teaching experience with positive student evaluations.

Typical workload: 45 credits per academic year, subject to departmental need. Faculty are expected to:

• Engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning.
• Meet all scheduled classes.
• Plan, organize, and inform students of course content, texts, readings, assignments, attendance regulations, and evaluation methods including grading scales.
• Schedule and attend office hours.
• Submit grades according to established deadlines.

Percentage of time: 100%

• Position requires background check and successful completion prior to employment.
• Must obtain and maintain a security clearance.
