Assistant Athletic Director – Special Projects and Administration
Job Summary: The Assistant Athletic Director – Special Projects and Administration reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director/ CFO and is responsible for coordinating and administrating special projects, events, and activities within Eastern Washington University’s Department of Athletics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan assigned athletics events such as Night of Champions Fundraiser, Welcome Back BBQ, home sporting events and department initiatives.
- Serve as Athletics representative for development strategies and activities.
- Oversee and enhance concessions strategies, 50/50 raffle and other revenue initiatives.
- Carry out special projects and objectives provided by the Director of Athletics in conjunction with support staff (e.g., grants specific to the athletics department).
- Provide guidance on EWU Athletics objectives and key results, supporting departmental objectives.
- Assist in Opt‑In support for NIL revenue share across department, inputting data into NIL GO, CAPS and related software.
- Support the business office with reconciliation of event receipts and budgets; administer One Cause platform for fundraisers and alumni events.
- Coordinate event planning with campus partners (dining services, summer camps), provide day‑to‑day operational support, and assist in implementing policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in sports management, business administration or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics or related field.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong understanding of the athletic environment, ability to maintain relationships with student-athletes, coaches, staff, boosters, university administration, faculty and community.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to compile, prepare, write and review reports.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach supportive of universal access for students, faculty, staff and public.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, with weekend and night work depending on office demands.
