Position: Supplemental Instructor, K-8 School
Schedule: per semester, approximately 4 hours of classroom work per week (on Tuesday or Thursday); 1 hour set‑up per week; 1 hour staff meeting per month; 2 Open House events per semester, each 2 hours; 2 Special events per semester, each 2 hours.

Position Type: Classified, Non‑Represented;
Temporary Position (Seasonal)
Compensation: $3,000 per semester, paid throughout the semester.
Benefits: Not benefits eligible. Upon completing 630 hours, employees may become eligible for medical, dental, vision, basic life, and AD&D insurance through SEBB.
Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; related work experience; background in teaching, community engagement, cultural education, or experiential learning; experience working with K‑8 students in formal or informal educational settings; reliable transportation; WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Develop and implement engaging learning experiences for K‑8 students.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and the parenting community to create meaningful learning opportunities.
- Facilitate hands‑on activities that connect classroom learning to real‑world applications.
- Provide instructional support in various subject areas, including STEM, humanities, art, movement, environmental studies, and social‑emotional learning.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
- Assess student progress and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Communicate regularly with school staff, parents, and community partners.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Maintain reliable transportation.
Knowledge of: instructional strategies for diverse learning styles; equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching; district programs and procedures; basic computer skills.
Abilities: maintain confidentiality; create lesson plans and solve problems creatively; comply with district equity and inclusiveness provisions; manage classroom and engage students positively; adapt instruction; follow written and verbal directions; communicate clearly; work variable hours; work alone or in a team; build rapport; be dependable and flexible.

- Experience schedule or site shifts according to district needs.

- Occasionally deal with distraught or difficult individuals.
- Sit, walk, stand for extended periods; typically 50% standing, 30% walking, 20% sitting.
- Use hands to push/pull, lift/carry, reach, climb, balance; lift up to 25 pounds.
- Visual display terminal exposure; maintain focus; sight requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception.
- High school diploma or equivalent; related work experience.
- Background in teaching, community engagement, cultural education, or experiential learning.
- Experience with K‑8 students in formal or informal settings.
- Reliable transportation.
Seasonal, semester‑based, temporary position; to commence August 25, 2026. Position per semester with deadlines and working hours outlined in the schedule.
CLEARANCESWSP/FBI criminal history background clearance.
CONTINUING EDUCATION & TRAINING- Complete school safety training within 30 calendar days of hire date and annually thereafter.
- Acquire and maintain CPR/First Aid card within 60 calendar days of hire date and as scheduled thereafter.
- Attend designated trainings as specified by supervisor or department director.
- Submit current or renewed licenses to Human Resources upon attainment.
