Campus Safety Specialist

This position provides onsite and remote support for Campus Safety Specialists at all elementary schools and secondary schools. This position is responsible for assisting in coordinating safety management plans and emergency drills for elementary schools as well as team building, and implementation of policies and procedures. This position will offer subject matter expertise within the campus safety program while developing and maintaining its training manual.
Will provide specific support for departments such as OFCE (Office of Family & Community Engagement), HEART (Homeless Education & Resource Team), student services, and a point of contact for building administrators for initial problem solving. Position reports to the Campus Safety Director.

SALARY: $90,605-$108,186
Responsibilities- Provides work quality and productivity assessments of Campus safety staff as directed by the Director of Campus Safety or designee. Monitors work quality and work progress; prepares reports and makes recommendations regarding work performance and training needs.
- Provides on-site training, instruction, assessment, and demonstration of proper protocols for Campus Safety staff assigned to K-12 school sites.
- Develops written, graphical, and video based training and procedural resources for Campus Safety staff development initiatives.
- Works effectively with a diverse staff and student body and provide customer service, team-oriented, collaborative environment to manage and maintain care, welfare, and safety of students, staff, and community partners. Encourages and supports effective communications and working relations with Campus Safety staff, students, other district staff, principals, and building managers.
- Manages safety support and documentation for district campuses in various remote locations, regarding drills and emergency procedures.
- Actively demonstrates, monitors, and develops modern safety practices ensuring they are followed by team members while protecting district liabilities.
- Willing to be trained in Threat Assessment to ensure district wide implementation with fidelity.
- Establishes a strong working relationship with various District departments and a point of contact for administrators in school for problem-solving.
- Reviews Campus Safety operations and planning to include evaluating and recommending improvements and efficiencies within the Campus Safety department, advises staff on procedures and preventative measures.
- Conducts formal and informal employee training plans, and professional development opportunities in support of employee growth to meet the evolving needs of the network & infrastructure team. Acts as a mentor and facilitates learning opportunities for staff.
- In partnership with the Director, develops and implements training plans and manuals for new employees, enhancing expectations for professional development to meet the evolving needs of the district.
- Responsible for tracking, documenting, and issuing of district equipment to current and new staff.
