Fiscal Specialist 2 – College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (CSTEM)
Job Summary
Provide fiscal and administrative support within the College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (CSTEM). The position reports to the College Director of Finance & Administrative Services and supports the Dean, Associate Dean, Director of Finance & Administrative Services, and College Executive Assistant.
- Develop, modify, and maintain record keeping and reporting systems for varied and complex sources of funding.
- Develop budgets for grants, contracts, and other funding requests; prepare appropriate forms for contracts and agreements.
- Maintain cost center and self‑sustaining accounts, calculate depreciation and amortization of equipment.
- Forecast fiscal needs/commitments and prepare long‑term planning documents.
- Consult with funding agencies to resolve problems and obtain approval for deviations from authorized procedures.
- Prepare specialized reports and conduct studies to research or justify fiscal requests/needs.
- Analyze and recommend improvements in subsidiary and general fiscal record‑keeping systems.
- Maintain and reconcile purchasing records, approve, and allocate purchase to proper budgets.
- Maintain personnel and payroll records; calculate salary and benefits costs.
- Track and prepare travel for Dean’s staff, maintain travel expense records, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Manage and track candidate expenses, maintain and process expense records.
- Prepare, compile and provide fiscal reports such as year‑end reports, budgetary reports, and audit reports.
- Assist with maintenance of the Dean’s office foundation account; monitor, track, and coordinate foundation donations and scholarships.
- Perform other fiscal duties as assigned.
- AA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Three years of full‑time experience with Microsoft Suite, Google Docs, Adobe, and other related software.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of professionalism.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain electronic records and files.
- Experience handling demanding workload with overlapping deadlines and attention to detail.
- Ability to function independently and take direction, with flexibility and initiative.
- Responsive and flexible approach that supports universal access for students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Two or more years of fiscal/budgetary experience in a college or university environment.
- Advanced experience with Excel or Google Sheets, including development of complex spreadsheets and formulas.
- Full‑time experience handling communication with internal and external clients such as government agencies, professionals, and other constituents.
- Experience managing fiscal/budgetary responsibilities for grants, contracts, and/or sponsored programs.

Salary range: $47,004 to $54,204. Base salary within range depends on education, experience, and skills.
