Job Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled and team‑oriented applicant for the Fiscal Specialist 2 position – College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (CSTEM) to support the CSTEM Dean’s Office. The position reports to the College Director of Finance & Administrative Services and provides support to the Dean, Associate Dean, Director of Finance & Administrative Services and College Executive Assistant.
Under general direction, the position performs a variety of complex and varied fiscal and administrative support functions such as analyzing and developing budgets for grants, contracts, state funds, and program funds; establishing and maintaining cost‑center and/or self‑sustaining accounts; maintaining professional fee records; coordinating diverse unit‑wide fiscal support functions such as travel reimbursement, purchasing, payroll support, and fiscal planning.
Independent judgement is exercised in developing, modifying, and maintaining multiple record‑keeping and reporting systems; interpreting and applying rules and regulations; advising faculty and staff regarding applicable policies; and recommending alternative courses of action. The position uses established procedures to perform fiscal responsibilities and ensures compliance with regulations, policies and standards.
The position requires a high degree of personal initiative, flexibility, and judgement in all assignments; strong verbal and written communication skills; the ability to organize and prioritize tasks; a demonstrated interest in providing strong customer service.
Salary and BenefitsSalary: $47,004 to $54,204, commensurate with education, experience, and skills.

Required Qualifications- AA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. Years of relevant work experience may be substituted on a year‑by‑year basis for education.
- Three years of full‑time work experience using Microsoft Suite, Google Docs, Adobe, and other software programs.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and a high level of professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain superior organization.
- Experience maintaining electronic records and files.
- Success handling a demanding workload with overlapping deadlines and a high attention to detail, perseverance, initiative, and ability to work independently and taking direction in a setting with interruptions and off‑site supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach supportive of the needs including universal access of students, faculty, staff and the public.
- Two or more years of fiscal/budgetary experience in a college or university environment; additional years of education may substitute on a year‑by‑year basis.
- Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets experience, including the ability to develop complex spreadsheets and use formulas and functions.
- Full‑time work experience handling communications with federal, state, city, county agencies and other internal/external clients.
- Experience managing fiscal/budgetary responsibilities for grants, contracts, and sponsored programs.
