Recruitment Coordinator (Part Time) – Pocatello/Idaho Falls

The College of Professional Programs, Family Resource and Training Center (FRTC) at Eastern Washington University seeks a skilled and collaborative Recruitment & Retention Coordinator to support the Fostering Idaho Regional Recruitment and Retention initiative. This 50% position reports to the FRTC Director and partners with statewide regional contractors to implement the Diligent Recruitment Plan, develop a Regional Recruitment Plan, manage the Resource Peer Mentor program, and execute retention activities.

Job Summary

As a regional leader, you will coordinate recruitment and retention of foster families across Idaho, oversee community-based Recruitment Advisory Councils, supervise regional Resource Peer Mentors, and maintain data for program evaluation. Regular travel to state communities is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the regional Recruitment Advisory Council (RAC) and coordinate partner recruitment, logistics, agenda, and reporting.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement active and passive recruitment and retention events.
  • Supervise regional Resource Peer Mentors and provide mentorship support.
  • Record all activities to support data collection and program evaluation.
  • Travel throughout Idaho, including multi‑day/overnight trips as needed.
  • Report to the FRTC Director on issues, concerns, and recommendations for the RPM program and recruitment plans.
  • Support recruitment and hiring of RPMs, including interviews, orientation, and training.
  • Schedule and facilitate weekly staff meetings with RPMs and monitor contracted hours.
  • Maintain active social media presence on regional pages and support outreach goals.
  • Collaborate with child welfare staff on mentorship needs and develop special activities such as the annual Foster Family Appreciation Event.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR1
  • Associate’s Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, Child Development, Education, or related field AND at least two (2) years of professional experience within the child welfare system OR
  • At least two (2) years of professional experience in program/project management, recruitment, or related field, including supervision of staff AND at least two (2) years of experience working within the child welfare system
  • Complete all mandatory training (Preservice, TOT, TBRI) within 6 months of hire.
  • Three years’ professional experience in social services.
  • Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and the complex needs of foster care families.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with database management.
  • Knowledge of creative design/marketing.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of time.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of diverse communities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least two (2) years supervisory experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in social services.
Benefits

The salary range for this 50% position is $27,785.50 – $29,000. In addition to salary, the university offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability insurance, retirement, vacation and sick leave accruals, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waiver for employees and eligible family members, and access to campus facilities.
