Recruitment Coordinator (Part Time) – Pocatello/Idaho Falls
Job Summary:
The College of Professional Programs, Family Resource and Training Center (FRTC) at Eastern Washington University seeks a Part‑Time Recruitment & Retention Coordinator to lead coordination and sustainability of regional recruitment of foster families.
- Lead the regional Recruitment Advisory Council (RAC) and coordinate community‑based recruitment activities.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement active and passive recruitment, retention, and support events for foster families.
- Supervise regional Resource Peer Mentors and oversee their training and performance.
- Maintain data collection and program evaluation records in alignment with the Diligent Recruitment Plan.
- Collaborate with child welfare staff to develop and implement special activities such as Foster Family Appreciation events and national awareness months.
- Report to the FRTC Director on issues, concerns, and recommendations related to RPM program and recruitment plans.
- Support the hiring and onboarding of new RPMs, including interviews, orientation, training, and creation of employee development plans.
- Schedule and facilitate staff meetings and coordinate RPM staffing needs to ensure coverage for foster parents and training activities.
- Monitor social media activity on regional pages and ensure high‑quality employee performance.
- Bachelor’s degree or
- Associate’s degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, Child Development, Education, or related field and at least two (2) years of professional experience within the child welfare system or
- At least two (2) years of professional experience in program/project management, recruitment, or related field, including supervision of staff and at least two (2) years of professional experience working within the child welfare system
- Complete all mandatory training within six months of hire (Preservice, TOT, TBRI).
- Three years’ professional experience in social services.
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed care and the complex needs of children and families involved in foster care.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and/or supervisory skills.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with database management.
- Knowledge of creative design/marketing.
- Ability to travel as described in the Conditions of Employment, up to 30%.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach supportive of the needs of all students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- At least two (2) years supervisory experience.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in social services.
Salary range for this 50% position: $27,785.50 – $29,000. Conditions of EmploymentBackground check required prior to employment. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship available.
