Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

The Controller is a hands‑on leader, collaborating with the Chief Financial Officer and departmental staff to plan and assist in the direction of the accounting and finance operations of the Association and will be responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining effective financial controls and systems of The YMCA of the Jersey Shore ("Association").

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA or MBA preferred.
• 5+ Years professional experience in accounting, 3 of which in a supervisory role.
• Nonprofit experience strongly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, as well as accounting and CRM software. Knowledge of the Daxko system is desired but not required.
• Ability to prioritize, multi‑task and meet deadlines, while maintaining high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality and apply independent judgment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially as they pertain to financial functions.
• Valid NJ Driver’s License, acceptable driving record, and valid NJ Motor Vehicle Insurance.
