Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Tax Manager to join our growing CPA firm. The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of individual, business, partnership, S corporation, and corporate tax engagements while providing high-quality tax planning and advisory services to clients.
This role is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients, mentoring staff, and playing an important role in the growth and success of a mid-sized public accounting practice.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and other entities.
- Oversee multiple tax engagements from planning through completion, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Review complex tax returns and identify potential tax issues, risks, and planning opportunities.
- Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients throughout the year.
- Research and interpret federal and state tax laws, regulations, and rulings.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters, including recommendations, tax notices, and compliance requirements.
- Develop strong, long‑term relationships with clients and serve as a trusted tax advisor.
- Assist partners with client proposals, business development, and expansion of existing client relationships.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits, notices, and other tax‑related correspondence with taxing authorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA license required or strongly preferred.
- 5–8+ years of progressive public accounting experience, with significant tax experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation.
- Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns.
- Base Salary: $100-130k+, commensurate with experience.
