About

the Role

The Construction Health & Safety Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the safety, technical integrity, compliance, and successful execution of construction projects within the organization. Serving as the subject matter authority, they will provide mentorship on the client’s construction standards, safety protocols, risk management, and regulatory compliance while ensuring alignment with quality and organizational requirements. This is an onsite role Monday‑Friday in Collegeville, Pennsylvania and will oversee projects at this location.

What

You’ll Do
  • Provide input to the Contracting and Procurement Strategy, ensuring safety requirements are embedded.
  • Draft and review contract clauses related to safety, risk management, and emergency response.
  • Establish and apply safety‑related prequalification criteria for contractors.
  • Evaluate contractors’ EHS systems, incident history, and safety performance during selection.
  • Participate in bid evaluations and post‑project reviews to inform future contract decisions.
  • Collaborate with procurement to structure contracts that incentivize safety achievements.
  • Lead constructability reviews, facilitating discussions among customers and detailing outcomes.
  • Ensure project design aligns with construction methods and safety considerations.
  • Identify and address potential construction issues early in the project lifecycle.
  • Provide input on permitting and regulatory requirements.
  • Support development of preconstruction EHS information in coordination with the client’s Design Coordinator.
  • Define EHS responsibility boundaries and prequalify contractors and key personnel.
  • Monitor and assure contractor compliance with EHS requirements and performance through regular meetings and audits.
  • Approve the Permit to Work (PTW) process and ‘site within a site’ designation on applicable projects.
  • Maintain communication with the host site to lead EHS interfaces and responsibilities.
  • Support handover of completed assets and projects.
  • Support the documentation of transfer of EHS responsibilities post‑construction.
  • If applicable lead incident management, root cause analysis, and action tracking for construction‑related incidents.
  • Implement site‑specific safety rules and contractor safety oversight plans.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management, or Construction EHS Management with large‑scale construction projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry guidelines.
  • Solid understanding of contract management and procurement processes.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and customer engagement skills with cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience in evaluating contractor safety performance and EHS systems.
  • Proficiency in conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing safety incentive programs.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment, nice to have.
  • Experienced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
