Childcare Director/Daycare Manager, Summer Seasonal

Seasonal Travel Program Director – Chaverim
This is a full-time seasonal summer leadership role responsible for overseeing and executing an extensive off‑camp travel program involving daily trips to 39 locations, including early morning departures, evening returns, and two multi‑day overnight trips.
The Director serves as the primary leader for all travel programming, ensuring safety, strong supervision, clear communication, and a positive experience for campers, families, and staff.
ScheduleCamp days typically 8:45 AM–4:15 PM; hours vary based on trip schedule.
Pre‑Camp Responsibilities- Assist with trip planning, coordination, and contingency planning.
- Contribute to orientation planning and end‑of‑summer recap.
- Supervise and attend all daily trips per the Chaverim calendar.
- Coordinate tickets, meals, funds, medications, first aid supplies, and trip materials.
- Develop and implement alternate plans for weather, delays, or unforeseen issues.
- Oversee hotel rooming and logistics on overnight trips.
- Enforce all camp, transportation, hotel, and venue safety policies.
- Conduct regular camper check‑ins and accountability procedures.
- Provide basic first aid and elevate emergencies when appropriate.
- Supervise, mentor, and support assigned staff.
- Address performance or disciplinary concerns in coordination with supervisor.
- Complete mid‑summer and end‑of‑summer evaluations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding trip logistics.
- Manage daily communication with families and staff via text, email, and phone.
- Communicate promptly and professionally during incidents or emergencies.
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
- Model professionalism, calm decision‑making, and strong judgment.
- Foster a positive team culture and provide excellent customer service.
- Remain flexible and assist with additional camp needs as required.
- Strong organizational and logistics skills.
- Comfortable managing complex schedules and fast‑moving situations.
- Excellent communicator with families, staff, and administration.
- Calm, decisive, and safety‑focused under pressure.
- Prior camp, travel program, or youth leadership experience strongly preferred.
