Youth Services Librarian (Part Time) - Cherry Hill Public Library
Part Time (12-15 hours per week)
About the Position: The Cherry Hill Public Library is seeking to hire a dynamic, enthusiastic librarian to join the Youth Services team. We are a state of the art library within a thriving suburban community in South Jersey. The successful candidate will be a responsible and efficient individual ready to keep up with our busy Youth Services Department. Duties will include:
Reference and reader’s advisory services, assisting the public with computer and technology based questions, assistance with library programming and collection development as needed. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on providing patrons with a positive library experience are a must!
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the KOHA ILS
- Experience providing reference and reader’s advisory services
- Experience using print and electronic resources
- Knowledge of basic computer applications
- Evidence of ability to communicate effectively
- Knowledge of children’s and teen literature
- A strong commitment to public service and teamwork
Work Schedule:
Work schedules are subject to change based on the needs of the Library; candidates must be able to work during the library’s operating hours including, but not limited to evenings and weekends. 12-15 hours per week and fill-in hours as needed.
About the Library:
The Cherry Hill Public Library is the largest municipal library in the southern New Jersey area. The library is open seven days a week and is operational Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and approximately 32 Sundays 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. a year.
