Job Type/Status:Full-Time

Position Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day operation and direct delivery of Baby's Best Start (BBS) under the revised program model. The program coordinator serves as the primary classroom instructor, delivering all curriculum sessions at both the Promise Neighborhood FSC and Building Bridges FSC. Responsibilities include teaching weekly classes, completing all required reporting, ensuring linkage of families to the Family Success Centers (FSCs), conducting follow-up contact related to class participation, and maintaining strong partnerships with FSC staff and community organizations.

Ensures that the mission of the Camden County Covenant for Children, Youth and Families, Standards for Prevention, Principles of Family Support, and Protective Factors are incorporated into all aspects of the program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary instructor for all BBS classes at both FSC locations.
  • Prepares lesson plans and delivers 7 class sessions per cohort using the curriculum.
  • Facilitates group discussions and educational sessions in a warm, supportive environment.
  • Coordinates guest presenters and content specialists as needed.
  • Ensures a welcoming, inclusive, and family-centered classroom atmosphere.

Family Engagement & FSC Linkages

  • Ensures 100% of families are linked to the FSC for ongoing support and services.
  • Conducts follow-up contact related to class attendance, engagement, and FSC connection.

Reporting & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Completes attendance, progress tracking, and required reports accurately and on time.
  • Ensures all program outcomes, deliverables, and Level of Service requirements are met.
  • Maintains communication with the funders regarding program activities.

Recruitment, Outreach & Partnerships

  • Coordinates participant recruitment in collaboration with FSC staff.
  • Conducts outreach and builds relationships with community and faith-based organizations.
  • Represents BBS at community events, meetings, and presentations.
  • Works closely with FSC staff to support family engagement and retention.

Program Coordination

  • Plans and executes program events, including graduation ceremonies at the end of each cohort.
  • Ensures families who do not complete all sessions may join future cohorts to graduate.
  • Maintains communication with internal and external partners to support program success.

Requirements:

EDUCATION/

EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's or higher
  • At least two years of experience working with program population
  • Experience facilitating groups and building collaborations

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Maintains First A and CPR certifications, as required by funder and licensing agent for specific programs pertinent to this position
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License in the state of his/her residence if job is classified as Essential driving
  • Must have and maintain automobile insurance if driving a personal vehicle

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Understanding of preventive strategies and the value of empowering families
  • Trained in Active Now curriculum
  • Ability to give and carry out written and oral directions.
  • Ability to facilitate groups
  • Negotiates, persuades, and modifies opinion in order to reach the goals/objectives of Center For Family Services.
  • Ability to complete basic mathematical operations and use them to calculate figures such as percentages and means for the analysis of reports
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and responds to email in a professional manner
  • Ability to work in an organized, efficient manner with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in the prioritizing of workload and inclusion of supervisor in staff and programmatic decisions
  • Ability to lead classes in an effective and efficient manner
