We are seeking an experienced MEP Electrical Engineer with 8+ years of experience in electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm/systems design for commercial, industrial, institutional, educational, and healthcare facilities. This role is part of a growing MEP engineering division focused on delivering high-quality, large-scale building projects. This is a high-impact engineering position within a collaborative MEP team. You will play a key role in designing and delivering complex electrical systems that support critical building infrastructure across multiple industries.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical engineer who can lead design efforts, coordinate across disciplines, and manage complex project requirements from concept through construction.
PRIMARY DUTIES- Prepare electrical designs for large-scale projects including industrial, institutional, office, retail, and healthcare facilities
- Design and analyze power distribution, grounding, lighting, control systems, and equipment specifications
- Solve complex engineering problems and provide practical design solutions
- Lead and coordinate a team of designers and support staff
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, construction managers, and clients
- Lead electrical design efforts on multi-discipline projects
- Ensure compliance with company policies, building codes, and OSHA safety standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering design principles and building systems
- Familiarity with applicable building codes, energy codes, and industry standards
- Experience with engineering design software (including SKM)
- Experience with lighting design and photometric analysis software
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (latest versions preferred)
- Experience leading complex, multi-discipline engineering projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prepare technical reports, specifications, and contract documents
- Ability to travel up to 10% as needed
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
- 8+ years of experience in electrical building systems design (10+ preferred)
- PE License Required
- Occasional field work with exposure to outdoor conditions
