Our client, Urban Engineers, is hiring a Senior Highway Engineer to support its growing South Jersey highway design group. This is a full-time, hybrid-eligible role based in Cherry Hill, NJ, offering the chance to play a key part in delivering high-impact NJDOT and NJTA infrastructure projects.

You’ll work alongside a talented team of engineers and report into experienced leadership as you take ownership of design tasks, coordinate with cross-discipline teams, and help drive quality, efficiency, and innovation across a diverse set of transportation projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality highway and civil design services for NJDOT, NJTA, county, and MPO-led transportation projects
• Lead design efforts on horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway cross sections, drainage, stormwater, MPT, and erosion/sediment control
• Prepare construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and PS&E packages
• Support field inspections and QA/QC checks
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to keep projects on schedule and within scope
• Serve as a task leader on complex assignments and contribute to mentoring junior staff

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of highway design experience
• Strong proficiency with Micro Station, InRoads/Open Roads, and/or AutoCAD
• Solid understanding of NJDOT and/or NJTA project delivery standards
• PE license preferred (or actively pursuing)
• Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills
• Experience in New Jersey preferred, but open to candidates in the broader Mid-Atlantic region willing to commute to Cherry Hill on a hybrid schedule
