A leading waste management company is looking for an Environmental Manager to join their team and support multiple facilities across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. This is a highly visible leadership role for an environmental professional who enjoys partnering with operations, managing regulatory compliance programs, and driving environmental excellence across multiple sites.
Reporting to the Director of Environmental Compliance, this role will be responsible for a small EHS team and 5 key sites in the region.
There is 25-50% travel, and candidates can be based in or near any of the following locations:
- Scranton, PA
- Gloucester, NJ
- Lead environmental compliance programs across multiple facilities, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews while overseeing permit requirements and environmental reporting
- Manage environmental training initiatives, including onboarding and ongoing employee development
- Support air, water, emissions, and waste compliance programs, including monitoring and reporting activities
- Serve as a key contact for regulatory agencies, inspections, and compliance‑related communications
- Lead environmental incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action plans
- Partner with plant leadership to identify compliance risks, drive continuous improvement, and strengthen environmental performance
- Maintain compliance records, reporting systems, and environmental management processes across assigned locations
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, EHS, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of environmental compliance experience, preferably in an industrial, utilities, manufacturing, energy, or waste environment
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, inspections, and compliance reporting
- Experience working with regulatory agencies and managing multi‑site compliance programs
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working independently while supporting multiple facilities and operational teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and environmental compliance reporting systems
