JSB - Catering

Job Summary

The JSB Staff position is a versatile and dynamic role within the Jonathan Sinay Building, designed to support the wide-ranging activities of our community center. JSB Staff will take on a variety of responsibilities, including serving as front desk receptionist, providing support to clients, leading shifts in the cafe or market, assisting with catering operations, and other tasks related to the needs of the building.

JSB Staff will work collaboratively with clients, staff, and volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of the center's programs and services, contributing to the vibrant and supportive culture of the Jonathan Sinay Building.

• Warmly greet visitors and clients
• Answer and direct phone calls
• Collect and distribute mail and ensure the postal worker receives the building mail
• Maintain a visitor log, issue visitor badges, and notify employees of guest arrivals
• Perform data entry, document scanning and uploading, and tracking of the building events/meetings calendar
• Assist with supplies orders
• Other tasks deemed appropriate for this position
• Assist with preparing dishes to serve within the building and for community events
• Complete catering orders in a timely manner
• Package and label food according to local, state, and federal health code standards, in addition to standards set by the Jewish Federation of Southern NJ
• Work as a team with volunteers and other catering personnel to ensure high standards of customer services and seamless experience
• Other tasks deemed appropriate for this position
• Assist clients JFCS provide services for in various building spaces, while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
• Fill out and complete logs as required for the service(s) being provided to the client(s)
• Attend training, as required, to be in compliance with the different types of supports being provided

• Take and process orders; and serve beverages and food in the J-Sips Cafe
• Ring up merchandise in the Market
• Assist the Cosmetologist in the Salon
• Review inventory, as needed
• Attend training, as required, to best serve the needs of the Café, Market and Salon
• Other tasks deemed appropriate for this position

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Vocational training
• Experience with customer service preferred
• The ability to read and write Basic math
