Job Description for Mortgage Loan Officer
At WSFS Bank, you will originate mortgage loans (purchase and refinance) in the New Jersey area, including Conventional loans, FHA, USDA, VA, and First Time Home Buyer programs. Your role involves soliciting residential mortgages through your referral network and presenting mortgage programs to individuals and professional organizations.
Job Responsibilities- Provide service to customers and prospective customers seeking residential mortgage loans.
- Interview applicants to gather information on their financial situation, needs, desires, and property details; analyze relevant data.
- Ensure the customer understands the loan process from application through closing.
- Keep informed of trends, developments in the local real estate market, and changes in rules and regulations for private and government‑insured residential mortgages.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree is preferred).
- Minimum three years of experience marketing and originating residential mortgage loans and loan products.
- Effective sales skills and excellent time management.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work with minimal to no supervision.
- Willingness and ability to travel to assigned branch locations, customers’ homes and businesses, and perform presentations when requested.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; superior customer service skills.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; proficiency with industry standard mortgage origination software programs is strongly preferred.
Salary Range: $48,416.00 - $79,541.75 (individual base pay may vary based on experience and other factors).
