About the Opportunity
A leading global real estate investment firm is seeking an Associate to join its Corporate Finance team supporting a publicly traded real estate investment platform. This is an excellent opportunity to join a newly established, high-visibility finance team and gain broad exposure to financial reporting, SEC reporting, month-end close, internal controls, acquisitions, and strategic finance initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior finance leadership while partnering across accounting, tax, legal, operations, investor relations, and external service providers. Key Responsibilities- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, analyses, and reporting packages.
- Support preparation of quarterly and annual financial reporting deliverables, including SEC filings, earnings materials, board reporting, and internal management reporting.
- Assist in reviewing investment activity, acquisitions, valuations, financing activity, capital transactions, and corporate-level financial results.
- Prepare schedules supporting accounting policies, financial reporting, SOX compliance, and public company reporting requirements.
- Assist with documenting and testing internal controls while maintaining audit-ready support.
- Support technical accounting research and documentation for acquisitions, consolidations, and new accounting standards.
- Coordinate with portfolio companies, external administrators, auditors, and internal stakeholders to obtain and analyze financial information.
- Partner closely with finance, tax, legal, operations, investor relations, and investment teams on recurring reporting and special projects.
- Prepare analyses and presentation materials for senior leadership, board reporting, auditors, and investor communications.
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes, reconciliations, templates, and workflow efficiency.
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses supporting strategic business initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3+ years of public accounting and/or industry accounting experience.
- Experience with in real estate, REITs, asset management, financial services, public company accounting, or SEC reporting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively across teams.
