Lula Commerce is hiring a Finance and Business Operations Lead to bring together the financial, data, and operational work that helps our business scale. We are a fast-growing SaaS and marketplace company with multiple revenue streams, including subscriptions, revenue-share partnerships, GMV-based programs, and project work.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who can move comfortably between financial analysis and execution. You will dig into contracts and source data, determine what should be billed or paid, solve discrepancies, and build automated systems that replace repetitive manual work. The right person does not wait for a perfect process. They investigate, make sound decisions, and create a better one.
You will report directly to our CEO and partner closely with our leadership team, outsourced accounting team, Sales, Product, and Account Management teams.
What You'll Own Financial analysis and forecasting- Build and maintain forecasts across subscription, revenue-share, GMV-based, and project revenue.
- Model customer growth, launch timelines, retention, ARPU, gross margin, cash, and runway.
- Translate pipeline, contracted stores, live stores, and customer activity into reliable revenue forecasts.
- Compare forecasts with actual performance, investigate variances, and update assumptions as the business evolves.
- Turn financial and operating data into clear recommendations for leadership.
- Interpret customer and partner contracts and determine accurate billing, revenue-share, commission, and payout amounts.
- Reconcile revenue and payouts across Stripe, ACH, , partner reports, and internal data sources.
- Own recurring revenue-share processing and resolve discrepancies with customers, partners, and vendors.
- Create dependable documentation and controls for complex pricing and partner arrangements.
- Own invoicing and collections across subscriptions, revenue-share agreements, and project billing.
- Manage failed payments, overdue accounts, customer follow-up, dunning, and account-suspension processes.
- Build automated workflows that identify overdue accounts, trigger timely communication, and clearly surface exceptions requiring human judgment.
- Improve cash collection and give leadership a dependable view of accounts receivable.
- Identify manual, error-prone processes and design systems that can scale with the business.
- Use spreadsheets, SQL, automation tools, and AI-enabled workflows to connect data and reduce repetitive work.
- Build and maintain dashboards for ARR, ARPU, gross margin, collections, cash, burn, runway, and other key metrics.
- Create clear operating procedures, ownership, and data-quality standards across Finance and Business Operations.
- Take on high-priority analytical and operational projects as the company grows.
- Partner with our outsourced accounting team to support an accurate and timely monthly close.
- Prepare straightforward monthly reporting for leadership and the board.
- Maintain cash-flow forecasts and support banking, payment, tax, R&D tax-credit, financing diligence, cap-table, and equity-administration needs.
- Spot risks and inconsistencies early and follow them through to resolution.
- Approximately 4 to 7 years of experience across strategic finance, FP&A, finance operations, revenue operations, accounting, business operations, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in a startup or similarly fast-moving environment, ideally from Seed through Series B.
- Experience with a SaaS, marketplace, ecommerce, delivery, restaurant-tech, logistics, or fintech business.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including building models from scratch.
- The ability to work directly with messy source data, investigate inconsistencies, and reach a well-supported answer.
- A track record of automating workflows and building processes rather than relying on manual workarounds.
- Strong ownership and urgency. You communicate early, meet commitments, and keep work moving without repeated follow-up.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain financial and operational information to non-finance teammates.
- Comfort working independently, setting priorities, and creating structure in an evolving environment.
