Job Summary

To oversee a residential program and maintain the health, safety and wellbeing of all individuals. To supervise a team of DSP’s and ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations including DHS and JFED policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain Oversight of Assigned Quad(s)
  • Adhere to all specific responsibilities listed in signed Residential Manager Job Description
  • "On call" 24 hours a day in cooperation with other management staff. Participates in the weekend on call schedule for the residential program.
  • Assist with coverage of shifts as needed, to ensure program staffing ratios.
  • Provides on-call weekend report to Director team on Mondays when providing weekend coverage for residential program.
  • Participates in the training of new and existing employees under the direction of the Assistant Director of Operations.
  • Assists with refresher and one-on-one training for Direct Support Professionals and Residential Managers as needed.
  • Attends Admin Meetings and Group/Committee Meetings as requested.
  • Participates in DSP feedback and corrective action discussions with Residential Managers as needed
  • Assists with additional responsibilities in the absence of the Assistant Directors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree or higher;
    Experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree should be a minimum of 3 years in residential with IDD. An associate’s degree can replace one year of experience.
  • Driver’s license valid in the state of NJ plus clean driving record.
  • Shall be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with written and oral language.
  • Submit to a criminal background check and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to working with individuals served.
  • Agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
  • Shall submit to drug testing and receive a clear drug screen prior to employment.
  • Shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause.
  • Shall complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI).
  • Must be vaccinated for Covid
    -19 or meet criteria under both DDD/CDC guidelines.
  • Must cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation.
  • Must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training, including but not limited to specialized trainings, online trainings, CPR and crisis management.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of inclusion, compassion and can problem solve with individuals with disabilities and their families.
Additional Technical Requirements
  • Advanced Level PC skills:
    Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Access.
  • Ability to perform work that is routine and strong attention to details
  • Knowledge of systems and functionality.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent project management, customer service, organization, and time management skills.
