#22 - DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (CLOUD DATABASE ENGINEER)

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Administering, maintaining, developing and implementing policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database; implementing data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security; monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users;

mapping out the conceptual design for a planned database; considering both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users; refining the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model; further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements; controlling access permissions and privileges; developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans; ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly;

capacity planning Relocation/ telecommuting may be required plus travel to various unanticipated client locations within the United States for short and long term assignments.

LANGUAGES, SKILLS AND TOOLS

Any suitable combination of the following tools:
Cloud / Automation: AWS, Terraform, Bitbucket, Postgres, MySQL, Statspack, TOAD, Golden Gate, Data Guard, Linux, Unix Shell Scripting, Windows Server.

EDUCATION

Master’s degree in computer science/computer application(s)/computer information systems/engineering (Electronics//Mechanical/ Electronics & Communication). Will accept bachelor’s in computer science/computer application(s)/computer information systems/engineering (Electronics//Mechanical/ Electronics & Communication) plus five (5) years of progressive experience in related fields in lieu of a master’s degree. Will accept foreign education equivalent.
