General Summary & Scope
The Prestige Beauty Advisor (PBA) is responsible for maximizing sales in the prestige category (color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance) by engaging guests to determine their individual needs and assisting guests in the selection and purchase of prestige merchandise, while following all company policies and procedures. All responsibilities are done while maintaining overall store standards, including cleanliness and replenishment. This position supports the Sales Manager through a focus on performance, people, and process.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities Performance
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, retail shrink and omni‑channel sales, focusing on the prestige category and iconic brands.
- Ensure that each guest receives exceptional service by greeting and engaging every guest, personalizing service, recommending complementary products and informing guests of promotions and events.
- Courteously handle sales, refunds, and exchanges.
- Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and guest experience.
- Book appointments for services and in‑store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while achieving sales goals.
- Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services; be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits.
- Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
- Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests.
- Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business.
- Participate in ongoing training, including product and category education, to enable professional development and drive sales performance.
- Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
- Adhere to the dress code.
- Keep the prestige work area replenished, signage, and testers available in compliance with hygiene standards.
- Maintain operational standards for cleanliness.
- Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing using the company’s technology.
- Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program with guests on the sales floor.
- Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices.
- Execute other operational tasks as directed.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Cosmetology, esthetician or demonstrator’s license where required by state law.
- 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Passion and competency for prestige products, guest service, and selling.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
Position Requirements
- Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Attend corporate meetings and conferences, including overnight stays.
- Frequent mobility throughout the store during shift.
- Frequent standing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and twisting.
- Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs.
- Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.
The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $24.75 per hour. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business needs. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by law. Full‑time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
