EMSL is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician II (Chemistry) in Cinnaminson, NJ. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On‑the‑job training will be provided for all new employees.

• Perform a variety of sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure chemical and physical properties in a variety of matrices: air, dust, food, soil, solid, and/or water
• Operate and maintain basic analytical equipment and instruments
• Perform basic chemistry tasks such as pipetting, volumetric measurements, and the utilization of analytical balances
• Perform basic calculations and conversions, and compile the data obtained
• Understand and adhere to standard operating procedures and quality control procedures established for each analytical method
• Support all sample‑related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or closely related science required
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• Some laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus
• Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
• Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and standing for various lengths of time
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self‑motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude
• Effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi‑task and prioritize with minimal assistance

Position is full time, Tuesday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Cinnaminson, NJ are encouraged to apply.
