Cherry Hill Township is seeking a full-time Licensed Plumbing Inspector for immediate opening.
The Plumbing Inspector assists the Plumbing Subcode Official with plan reviews, field inspections and witnessing the commissioning tests of various plumbing and other relevant systems in accordance with the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. Additionally, the Inspector assumes the duties of the Plumbing Subcode Official as required during their absence. Dual licenses in multiple fields (Electric, Building, Fire, Housing) preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Inspects new and existing residential, commercial, and industrial buildings and structures to enforce compliance with applicable building codes and approved plans/specifications.
- Issues summonses, stop orders, or written recommendations to the Construction Official.
Education and Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Plumbing Inspector license, and any other applicable UCC Inspector licenses issued by the State of New Jersey.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably for a large municipality.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of methods used to conduct plumbing inspections.
- Knowledge of plumbing installation methods.
- Knowledge of plumbing fixtures and fixture requirements.
- Ability to examine plumbing plans and specifications for compliance with New Jersey Uniform Commercial Codes.
- Ability to maintain records and files.
- Experience with Spatial Data Logic (SDL) software is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Other Requirements:
- Valid New Jersey Driver's license.
- New Jersey residency required pursuant to NJSA 54:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), if selected for the position.

The salary range for this position is from $80,000 to $83,000; commensurate with qualifications.
