PLC Technician

We are seeking a talented and motivated PLC Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing PLC-controlled automated equipment and control systems. This role is essential in ensuring that production equipment operates efficiently, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC systems and automated machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues.
  • Monitor and optimize machine performance to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Modify PLC programs as needed to support process improvements and operational requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain HMI (Human Machine Interface), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), sensors, and industrial communication networks.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, and startup processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years maintenance experience maintaining and troubleshooting high-speed equipment, instrumentation, and processes.
  • 3+ years of experience working with PLC-controlled equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, electrical troubleshooting, and automation equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency with HMI systems, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial networking.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with cGMP is a plus.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment.
  • Maintains electronic equipment, logs, and documentation in accordance with SOP and cGMP guidelines.
  • Provides technical support to other plant departments.
  • Must be able to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Assist in set-ups, changeovers, and start-up adjustments of equipment as necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $66560.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
