Engineer, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

Requirements

• We require a high school diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience in a hotel or related field.
• We prefer at least one year of progressive experience in hospitality or a similar environment.
• Trade school training or college coursework in a related discipline is helpful.
• We need someone who can work flexible schedules and long hours when needed.
• This role involves heavy physical work, including lifting more than 100 pounds occasionally, more than 50 pounds frequently, and more than 20 pounds regularly.
• We expect strong verbal and written communication skills and a courteous, service-focused approach with employees and guests.
• You should be able to listen carefully, understand concerns, and clarify issues effectively.
• Strong multitasking and prioritization skills are required to meet departmental deadlines.
• You must be able to attend required meetings and training sessions.
• Regular attendance, professional grooming, and proper uniform compliance are required.
• You should follow our standards and regulations to support safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Problem-solving ability, initiative, confidentiality, and the capacity to cross-train in other hotel areas are important.

• We maintain the property in excellent condition with minimal disruption to guests and employees.
• We service hotel air conditioning systems, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and motor replacement.
• We perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
• We take equipment readings, test cooling towers, and document results.
• We replace and program televisions as needed.
• We install and repair light switches, receptacles, bulbs, and fixtures.
• We carry out furniture repairs and restore sheet rock and wall coverings.
• We replace and repair pumps.
• We perform plumbing repairs, including drains, copper piping, washers, handles, and fittings.
• We read blueprints and wiring diagrams and use them to support repairs.
• We trace and fix water lines and troubleshoot kitchen equipment.
• We keep accurate repair and preventive maintenance records.
• We complete work in line with local, state, and federal codes.
• We test, clean, and repair pools and spas.
• We paint designated areas and repair hotel electronic lock systems.
