Summary:

Re Connections is a program that offers peer-to-peer coaching and support services to family, friends, and loved ones of individuals struggling with addiction. Our staff will work with you to begin the process of healing from the effects addiction has had on personal relationships and develop healthy boundaries.

Position Summary

Center For Family Services is seeking an experienced and professional Family Support Coordinator for the ReConnect Family Support Program. The Family Support Coordinator position requires patience, dedication, understanding, and the ability to provide peer to peercompassionate support to program participants.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Constructs individualized wellness plans with family members that is culturally competent with relevant services and identifies goals with measurable objectives the family member wishes to achieve
• Offering resources to families seeking information on substance use disorder and behavioral treatment. Resources include accessing treatment information through REACH-NJ, NJ Connect, private insurance, DMHAS IME Addiction
• Provide outreach and coordination of services with all systems involved with the family (i.e. support community, treatment community, IME, and Opioid Overdose Recovery Program (OORP).
• Inform family member about Naloxone training and where Naloxone kits can be purchased
• Connect families with other family members if desired
• Advocate on behalf of families
• Provide recovery resources
• Provide lists of 12 Step and Recovery Support Group Meeting locations and/or other Mutual Support Groups for families
• Active listening to a family member, allowing them to share their stores of success, struggles, and barriers
• Guide family member in exploring effective coping strategies such as self-care
• Facilitate psychoeducation and support groups meetings as needed
• Offer supportive strategies on how to motivate their loved one to enter and stay in treatment and connect with recovery support services
• Teach positive communication skills, be able to engage in role-plays with parents to rehearse positive communication skills
• Create an engaging and respectful environment that recognizes, supports, and encourage family member as important collaborators in their loved ones care.
• Inform families of "patient brokering" that may result in unethical practices during their time of need to seek immediate treatment for their loved ones.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate/GED required
• Experience:
  
  Some college/bachelor's degree, or has experience working in the substance use field/acquires CPRS
• Vehicle with current insurance and registration
• Applicant must be willing to work nights and some weekends and travel throughout Southern NJ as needed to meet clients
• Bilingual Preferred (Spanish/English)
