Software Engineer, Backend Developer, Cloud Engineer - Software

Overview

Versant (Nasdaq: VSNT) is an industry‑changing media and entertainment business. We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The role focuses on designing and building scalable, secure, user‑centric applications for Versant’s next‑generation platforms.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver full‑stack solutions that solve real business problems.
• Implement scalable, fault‑tolerant microservices and modern front‑end applications.
• Use SaaS and low‑code/no‑code platforms where appropriate to accelerate delivery.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and team knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Write secure, performant, and maintainable code.
• Work closely with product and architecture teams to ensure alignment in technical direction and business priorities.

• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of backend development in languages such as Java, Node.js, Python, or Go.
• Skilled in modern JavaScript/Type Script, HTML/CSS, and frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
• Experience developing scalable, high‑performing microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub Actions, Jenkins or similar).
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues in distributed environments.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team.

• Exposure to GenAI tools, SaaS platforms, and low‑code/no‑code tools.
• Familiarity with serverless technologies and event‑driven architecture.
• Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tooling (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation).
• Working knowledge of monitoring stacks like Datadog, Prometheus, or ELK.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems or integrating with enterprise platforms.
• Awareness of Dev Ops practices and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Background in media or entertainment business domain is a plus.

• Hybrid work model (3 days onsite).
