Description

At Audible, we believe stories have the power to transform lives. It’s why we work with some of the world’s leading creators to produce and share audio storytelling with our millions of global listeners. We are dreamers and inventors who come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences to empower and inspire each other. Imagine your future with us.

About This Role

As a Software Development Engineer, it’s up to you to define, design and refine the tech that keeps us one step ahead of listeners. Anticipate. Innovate. Bring challenging ideas and we’ll support you with the latest tech, tools and systems that you need to succeed, including modern AI‑assisted development tooling. You’ll be essential in ensuring the team can reach their potential;

working closely with them, reviewing their work, mentoring, and supporting them to develop. Together, you’ll build and maintain our platform to bring thousands of stories to millions of listeners and unleash the power of the human voice.

About The Team

It takes a curated team to pack the entire Audible library into the palm of your hand, but we make it happen seamlessly, for millions of people across the world. The team’s vision is to enable a frictionless experience allowing Audible customers to listen and engage with the largest Audiobook portfolio. We work ceaselessly to deliver world‑class products that scale for millions of daily listener sessions across the entire ecosystem, including iPhone and Android phones, the mobile web, Car Play and Android Auto, wearables, and living room devices.

We are a nimble team with a game‑changing mindset, endless passion, and user focus.

About You

You are talented, adaptable, and flexible. We’re looking for creative, open‑minded mobile software development engineers to help build technologies that continuously improve the Audible listening experience. You may come from an iOS, Android, or mobile web background; what matters is your depth in building and scaling mobile software, your ability to coordinate cross‑functionally by integrating new features, maintaining high performance, and creating intuitive interfaces.

You bring hands‑on experience with testing and test automation in mobile environments. You’re familiar with unit, integration, and end‑to‑end UI testing across the mobile testing pyramid, and you understand how to build and maintain reliable test suites that support continuous delivery. You use AI‑assisted development tools (such as coding assistants and agentic workflows) to raise your velocity and quality, and you apply good judgment about where they help.

You’ll also contribute to quality across the full stack, helping ensure our systems are reliable from the backend through to the user experience, without compromising compatibility across the range of mobile devices and form factors in an agile environment.
