Application Lead Developer
As an Engineering Lead for the application delivery team, you will be responsible for leading a talented team of engineers (DEV & QA). You will demonstrate high technical acumen, solution design capability, and strong hands‑on expertise in developing technical solutions for complex business requirements. You will play a leading role in providing technical guidance, best‑practice adoption, and fostering a collaborative, dynamic team culture to ensure the successful delivery of high‑quality enterprise applications.
CoreResponsibilities (Team & Delivery Leadership)
- Deliver business value through application development and enhancements.
- Demonstrate ownership and responsibility over assignments, including gathering requirements, technical specifications, design, architecture, implementation, unit testing, builds/deployments, and code management.
- Evaluate, assess, plan, and guide technical direction and architecture decisions.
- Mentor and guide the development team through design, estimation, development, and unit testing.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, promote best‑practice adoption, and drive continuous improvement in development processes.
- Lead and inspire a team of engineers, fostering a positive and productive work culture.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to guide technology and methodology selection.
- Provide technical guidance, support professional development, and conduct regular performance reviews in partnership with delivery managers.
- Interface, collaborate, and communicate effectively with business and cross‑functional/technical partners.
- Participate in PI, product and release planning and collaborate with onsite and offsite team members.
- Java J2EE and Spring technologies/frameworks (Spring Core, MVC, Cloud, Boot), Hibernate, RESTful services, Spring JDBC, etc.
- Proficient in microservices, Spring Boot, REST API, JPA, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES2016+).
- Experience with React.js, Webpack, Redux, and Flux.
- Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as Mocha and Jest.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills with browser‑based tools.
- Understanding of N‑tier, microservices, and cloud‑native architecture.
- Experience with Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle Web Logic, Tomcat configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with API management and cloud platforms (AWS, Google).
- Knowledge of Dev‑Ops tools (Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines).
- Familiarity with test‑driven development practices and automation.
- Strong analytical and observation/monitoring skills.
- Experience architecting and developing large‑scale enterprise applications.
- Proficient with Agile SDLC methodologies.
- Experience building applications for the financial industry is a plus.
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in engineering roles.
- 3+ years experience as an engineering/technical lead.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex enterprise‑grade software solutions.
