About our ClientOur client is a family-owned, industry leading provider of warehousing, storage and logistics services for agricultural commodities and general cargo. This client is headquartered in Camden County, NJ, serving various industries since 1979. Operating from eight facilities along the South Jersey / Delaware River corridor, this is one largest operators in the United States, with decades-long relationships with some of the biggest names in the business.
Beyond agricultural and general cargo commodities, our client also operates a processing facility and trucking division.
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of warehouse operations, labor, inventory, and safety compliance within the General Cargo operation and, over time, will cross-train into the company’s other Warehousing & Logistics operations. The Warehouse Manager works closely with the Senior Warehouse Manager to ensure the efficient, safe, and compliant handling and storage of all cargo.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Warehouse Building Management- Maximize warehouse storage capacity and handling productivity; manage and monitor section capacities.
- Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs where possible.
- Maintain warehouse security and cleanliness standards.
- Identify and correct deficiencies promptly as they occur.
- Coordinate and prepare for warehouse inspections, working with internal personnel to ensure inspections are completed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Manage labor efficiently in coordination with the Senior Warehouse Manager.
- Schedule and allocate tasks to warehouse staff.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the warehouse team.
- Recommend training programs to support employee development.
- Document employee call-outs and report them to the Senior Warehouse Manager.
- Oversee the receiving, shipping, handling, and storage of all cargo.
- Ensure forklift operators accurately document weights and location changes, and complete all required paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely submission of paperwork, providing the Traffic Manager with real-time updates on inbound and outbound loads.
- Conduct regular inventory audits in coordination with the Inventory Manager.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal personnel across departments.
- Provide regular updates to the Senior Warehouse Manager regarding warehouse performance.
- Provide visible, hands-on safety leadership on site.
- Ensure high-visibility and required safety gear is worn at all times, including harnesses on elevated platforms.
- Ensure facility compliance with safety standards, coordinating with the Building Manager on safety concerns.
- Maintain safety compliance at all times and promote a consistent culture of safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or relevant certification a plus.
- Prior warehouse, logistics, or general cargo experience; supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
- Forklift operation experience and/or certification preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (Excalibur by Camelot) a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically active warehouse environment.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs and to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including high-visibility gear and safety harnesses when working on elevated platforms.
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment handling dry, bagged commodities; this role does not involve refrigerated, temperature-controlled, or liquid/bulk-tanker storage.
- Exposure to typical warehouse conditions, including dust, noise, and powered material-handling equipment.
