Purpose and Scope of Job:

Primarily responsible for performing accounting functions necessary for the day-to-day operations to include Capital assets, sales tax compliance, accruals, journal entries, month end tasks, manage large vendor accounts, and account reconciliations.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

  • Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, reconciliation, and assist with the semi-annual FA audits.
  • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash balances and identify discrepancies.
  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations, which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, monthly accruals, recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, in accordance with GAAP.
  • Participate in the month end, quarter, and year end closing process.
  • Prepare and analyze the monthly departmental budget to actual for variances.
  • Managing the company’s fleet vehicles and lease related accounting procedure.
  • Managed several large vendor accounts.
  • Compile and prepare the sales tax data for monthly compliance.
  • Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits.
  • Completing the US Census in a timely manner.
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Two (2) years accounting experience in medium to large corporation.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
