Primarily responsible for performing accounting functions necessary for the day-to-day operations to include Capital assets, sales tax compliance, accruals, journal entries, month end tasks, manage large vendor accounts, and account reconciliations.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
- Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements and reports.
• Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, reconciliation, and assist with the semi-annual FA audits.
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash balances and identify discrepancies.
• Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations, which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, monthly accruals, recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, in accordance with GAAP.
• Participate in the month end, quarter, and year end closing process
• Prepare and analyze the monthly departmental budget to actual for variances.
• Managing the company's fleet vehicles and lease related accounting procedure
• Managed several large vendor accounts.
• Compile and prepare the sales tax data for monthly compliance.
• Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits.
• Completing the US Census in a timely manner
• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
• Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, or equivalent experience
• Two (2) years accounting experience in medium to large corporation.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong competency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal/typewriter; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone;
ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds.
