Commercial Construction Estimator – Builds projects before they break ground.
Salary: $80,000 - $150,000 per year.
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis for labor, materials, and subcontractor scopes.
- Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bids.
- Assist in the development of conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and value engineering options.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and leadership during preconstruction planning.
- Identify potential risk factors, scope gaps, and cost savings opportunities during the estimating process.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners to ensure competitive pricing.
- Participate in bid reviews, scope clarifications, and proposal preparation.
- Assist in project handoff to operations teams once work is awarded.
- 3–10+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
- Experience estimating ground-up construction and renovation projects.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Experience working with subcontractor bid leveling and scope reviews.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project sequencing.
- Proficiency with estimating software, takeoff tools, and Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
