Dentist (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon)

The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon serves as a practicing dentist who performs a full range of professional dental procedures in connections with the treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative, or preventive measures.

1. Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures.

2. Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions.

3. Accomplish admissions, work-up and performance of surgical procedures of patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions.

4. Accomplishes dental-alveolar surgical procedures, reduction of facial fractures, placement of dental implants and biopsy procedures.

5. Provide safe and effective anesthesia services in the outpatient setting including intravenous sedation/general anesthesia.

6. Active participant in the General Practice Residency and Maxillofacial Implant programs.
