Senior Structural Designer | Chesapeake, VA | 7+ Years Experience

We’re partnered with a growing engineering firm in the Chesapeake market that delivers complex heavy industrial and structural projects across the Southeast. Known for technical quality, strong project execution, and long-term stability, they are looking to add an experienced Senior Structural Designer to support continued project growth.

What you’ll be doing :

Leading structural design efforts for heavy industrial projects
Preparing structural drawings, layouts, sections, and details
Coordinating steel, concrete, and masonry design documentation
Managing project teams and supporting junior designers
Reviewing drawings, models, and fabrication details for accuracy
Coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Supporting field visits and construction coordination as required

What we’re looking for:

7+ years of structural design experience
Strong experience with steel and concrete structural systems
Proficiency in AutoCAD required;
Revit strongly preferred
Experience supporting industrial or large-scale structural projects
Strong understanding of structural detailing and construction documentation
Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
Exposure to RISA, STAAD, or similar analysis software is a plus
