    CALENDAR DAYS

    On Call - As Needed

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    • Performs professional work providing teaching to students in general instruction, a specialized subject, or an assigned group of subjects. Work is performed under regular supervision.
    • Teaching in an elementary or secondary school instructional program and a class environment favorable to learning, motivating students to achieve maximum potential;
    • Provides small-group instruction;
    • Provides intervention to students and reinforces skills in core content areas;
    • Prepares intervention sessions to foster academic development;
    • Assesses student progress as directed by the teacher;
    • Communicates regularly with school staff and administrators;
    • Keeps accurate records and collects data on students as required;
    • Prepares and maintains files and reports;
    • Attends training as scheduled;
    • Ensure student safety and school accountability;
    • Assists in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct;
    • Alerts the teacher to the special needs of individual students;
    • Performing related tasks as required.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    • Knowledge of subject(s) taught to include math and reading for elementary and/or secondary;
    • Knowledge of elementary, secondary or special education principles, practices and procedures;
    • Knowledge of school division rules, regulations and procedures;
    • Ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior;
    • Ability to document progress through written reports;
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents.
    WORKING CONDITIONS &
