On Call - As Needed
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Performs professional work providing teaching to students in general instruction, a specialized subject, or an assigned group of subjects. Work is performed under regular supervision.
- Teaching in an elementary or secondary school instructional program and a class environment favorable to learning, motivating students to achieve maximum potential;
- Provides small-group instruction;
- Provides intervention to students and reinforces skills in core content areas;
- Prepares intervention sessions to foster academic development;
- Assesses student progress as directed by the teacher;
- Communicates regularly with school staff and administrators;
- Keeps accurate records and collects data on students as required;
- Prepares and maintains files and reports;
- Attends training as scheduled;
- Ensure student safety and school accountability;
- Assists in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct;
- Alerts the teacher to the special needs of individual students;
- Performing related tasks as required.
- Knowledge of subject(s) taught to include math and reading for elementary and/or secondary;
- Knowledge of elementary, secondary or special education principles, practices and procedures;
- Knowledge of school division rules, regulations and procedures;
- Ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior;
- Ability to document progress through written reports;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and parents.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- Exertion of up to 10 pounds of force.
- Exertion of up to 20 pounds of force.
