Chesapeake Montessori

Chesapeake Montessori is a licensed childcare center seeking a Part-Time Music Teacher to support our Early Childhood Program
.

To be qualified for this position
, we require a bachelor’s degree and experience in teaching music at either the adult or child level.

Required Shift:

  • Wednesday 8:30am - 1:30pm
  • Thursday 8:30am - 11:30am

Compensation: $20-22 an hour; based on education and experience

Our Hiring Process:

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Design and implement music lessons that are developmentally appropriate and engaging for young children, using a variety of instruments, songs, and movement activities.
    • Introduce students to fundamental music concepts such as rhythm, melody, and tempo in a fun and age‑appropriate way.
    • Foster a joyful and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, self‑expression, and participation.
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrative staff to integrate music into the Montessori curriculum.
    • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding student participation and progress.
    • Set up and maintain all classroom musical instruments and materials in an organized and safe manner.
    • Physical ability to work with small children, including sitting, standing, walking, and singing for extended periods.
